Where's My Concrete - UX Redesign Project
Where's My Concrete (WMC) is a mission-critical B2B and B2C SaaS suite built for the high-stakes Ready-Mix Concrete industry, featuring applications like WMC Dispatch, ProQuo (CRM), and WMC Customer App. My role as a UX Designer at Vulcan was to lead the comprehensive redesign and experience revitalization of this application suite, with a strategic priority on the complex, high-volume WMC Dispatch platform. This project was anchored in the Double Diamond framework, resulting in the following approach: Discover & Define: We began with deep-dive contextual inquiry with dispatchers and plant managers, combining this qualitative data with existing telemetry and support ticket analysis. This synthesis led to detailed service blueprinting and the definition of key problem spaces centered on reducing cognitive load and minimizing costly scheduling errors. Develop & Deliver: I led rapid design sprints and low-fidelity prototyping to explore new routing and scheduling solutions. The final designs were validated through iterative usability testing with target users, followed by the creation of a unified design system and comprehensive developer handoff documentation.
